Back from Flertcher, Should have taken more money! 5 really nice Lt. Brahma's sold for more than I took, maybe a good thing they don't take visa. I talked to the guy that bought them and he said he would have went a lot higher if he had to.

I let Al talk me into helping set up for POOPS on Fri. night so I guess you better add me to the list. I knew I should have avoided him(LOL). He did give me some good advice on what I should do with my plans for breeding . Thanks Al.

Robin - I don't know about the paste - I think that is for horses and I don't know how it would be used for chickens. As an alternative to Ivomec, for worming and/or treating for mites/lice, you can also use the pour-on ivermectin for cattle - it is less expensive than Ivomec. When I was helping my folks treat their birds, I went to a veterinarian and she asked me how many chickens we were treating and asked if they were Large Fowl or Bantams. She then measured out two doses for each bird - 4-5 drops applied to the skin (under the wing was the easiest place to find skin on those hens not showing wear from the rooster). For bantams, the dosage is 2 drops on the skin. Reapply in two weeks as needed. You can find the Ivermectin at Atwoods or TSC, I don't have an Orsheln's nearby, but they probably have it too.

well, the only other thing i could find was the insectrin, its permethrin, wasn't sure if it would do the same as ivomec- will hold off on the paste, i have read where you give them a peasize amount on a bit of bread-

regarding silkie roos, i would say they are louder than serama's - but not as loud as my cochin, mine didn't start crowing till about six months, they are slow maturing- but i would seperate them so they each have a couple girls

i integrated the nn hen with the banties today- total acceptance right away, never seen that before

poor mr p is wandering around and bowing to us all day- haven't seen poser, any idea where geese usually nest? near the pond? i hope she is ok!

We use the Ivermectin. I order in bulk (several 5 litre bottles at time...and pay hazard shipping) We use ValleyVet.com.

I will post pic's when I get it finished, had to stop to go to a baby shower & I ran out of dirt.

NoCityBoy...looks like you are building a great coop/pen. I like the nestbox idea.
Banjoejoe..beautiful Cochins...love the Golden Lace and the Golden Partridge coloring. Your project sounds really neat.

Thanks for the nice comments on the garden....newly mown is better that the phot earlier this week with all the weeds and larkspur in the paths. We can a lot of veggies and plant successive crops...one comes out and another goes in.

Cayuse Ranch...the boxes were put in when we first moved in 11 years ago. The ground under the boxes is red clay. We built the boxes from treated 2 x 12 lumber and used electrical angle metal for the corners and used 4 lag bolts on each corner. They have held up really well and so are worth the expense.

I had a question for you but forget what it was.

.

you wanted to know if he wanted you to do soemthing extra that ya'll had talked about. You didn't say what.

Nanakat that is one nice garden! I always wanted to fix one like that! Did you used to watch a lot of Victory Garden!lol
I love the iris! I have a yellow like that but with white instead of lavender. The rain and wind has sure been hard on mine this year. I have to cut a lot of them because they are knocked flat on the ground.

Was it about you bringing your troupe of performing friends to POOPS?
