Thanks! /yea, ive never had luck with two roo's, even when free ranging, ugh it's just hard..I really like these two and deciding which one to rehome is hard!...lol no one meets my requirements. The only people who want him want to throw him into a free range coop with a big roo already there. If the roo doesnt kill him the hawks/owls/cats/raccoons/ect ect will. They all want the cute little things but very few realize how defenseless silkies are. Esp mine, they are super pansies....and i have to take all the responsibility for that! But I do want more ladies! lol encouragement not needed...If it were up to me I'd have a bazillian, but I really would like about 5 more hens. Prob silkie, but im a sucker for any,

Do you know about the other ?'s? The crowing, approx age of broodiness, and is there enough room in the run to add hens if i rehome a roo, or do i need to add on more?

If you wait on our resident silkie expert Betsy she will know the answers to your questions. I have only had a few silkies & I don't remember ever hearing my roo crow but I had other large fowl roo's in other pens so not sure if that is the norm.

old*cowboy :

GotGame, I know you raise bantamn modern games and some very fine ones too from the pictures I saw. I have a quad of red pyle standard modern games and am trying to find another pair, trio or whatever in another color. Anybody got any ideas where I might check. Thanks

I am not aware of anyone that has standard moderns but you cowboy, but I will check around....I cant take credit for the moderns I have now, as I bought them but I tried to find some good ones to start with...

LOL I grew up watching Victory Garden...also read Organic Gardening since it was a 5 x 7 inch magazine...Love gardening...got that from my Mom. She bought me the Seed Starting book for VG. Try to use only organic sprays and practices....I like knowing what has been used on my veggies!
Love my iris too. My Grandfather called them God's butterflies.
When my daylillies bloom, I'll post photos. I've gotten into cross- pollinating different flowers to make new plants. I've got some beauties.

I've got several daylilly varietys also. I am not wise enough to be a hybridizer tho! Congrats to you on that! I had a feeling you were a victory garden kid! I don't know it was just something about those raised beds that made me think it!lol I grew up watching it too! I am disappointed that now they have foreigners doing it instead of good old Ameriacns! I don't need to listen to an accent to learn about gardening!
I moved a lot of my daylillys early this spring so am hopeing I still get a good show. I have been potting up some of the iris and daylillys so I can move them back to Okla with me!
