Maybe you should wake him up at 5 in the morning and put his butt to work. Bet he would have a different outlook.

Yep some kids now days dont understand that the day starts before 9 oclock and it also goes all well past dark in most cases. People should have chores when they are young so they know how to do them when they are grown up..... i sound like my grandpa, im getting old

What kind of old english does your boyfriend/husband have?

He is 15 and spends all his non school time in his room watching/playing video games! We rarely even get to visit with him when we go over to their house because he won't evn come out for company! But he is an honor student and the parents think the sun rises and sets on him! Guess I'm just not very grandfatherly today!lol

We have great plans for the mom....just as soon as we decide! I think she wants a new gun. Bubba thinks she needs a dog. Clayton is all about getting her a huntig trip.

She overheard our conversation and we all need medical attention....possible brain injuries.

cards are bought....

there is a dinner in town raising money for something or other at the church...might do that or drop off some cash there and then go somewhere...might even leave the boys at home and take her out alone!

actually I think her favorite would be for us boys to leave her atthe house alone so she could do what she wanted and we didn't mess it up

I'll be at the Kellyville Poultry Swap tomorrow. I hope we don't get rained on.

Beth - God bless you, and your family.

Robin - I hope you're able to resolve your predator problem soon. I vote for putting your dogs to work. Vesta is an amazing deterrent. I haven't lost a single bird to varmints now that she has learned that the chickens are hers. She still doesn't care for the guineas.

When calves or the donkeys approach the fence near the chicken pens, Vesta lets them know they are too close. Her barking has kept coyotes, possums, and raccoons away from the pen area as well.

Have been rotating the dogs today- if i let them go together they head for the cattle, seperatly they patrol the property- and ignore the guineas and waterbirds- buddy in particular was tracking something this afternoon, he went all up in the upper pasture- so i am hoping he is getting the job done- they seem alot easier to handle doing it this way too. So the tally is 2 hens and a duck and i found out today my MIL lost her cat too... what does this sound like is maurading?

Anyone have any idea when/if shamo roos and hens start fighting with each other. I have 3 pair and read that the roos will fight with roos and hens with hens. wondering if i will have to separate them. i know if they are raised together that lessens the chances but still don't want to loose a good chicken because i took a chance. i work at a steel building place so getting some metal for a chicken barn on a good deal wouldnt me hard

our aseel hens arent fighting, and I have seen pens with half a dozen hens together, both shamo and aseel with no problems...not sure on cockerels, some others will be able to answer that
