Ours was started by 3 guys who had never met until the first poops- and it just worked- with alot of involvement and a family came out of it- if you get a chance pop over to the Oklahoma board and say hi!

BYC is the hub for our success.
We just built our own little nest in the corner of the BYC Henhouse.
The actual story on TV was little better than video.
The newscasters had a nice lead in to the story and then after, they mentioned about anyone wanting to know more about Backyard Chickens to go to the website and look for the BYC link.

The reporter told me that the stories he does goes to an NBC "feed" and it can be picked up y any station in the country that wants to rebroadcast it.
It is supposed to be on some other Oklahoma stations this week.
The PBS affilaite will carry it as well as some independents.

Rob : Thanks for the plug Our Oklahoma POOPS events have somehow become legendary and we are glad to share them with our fellow chicken community. We Okies try to think of it as a family reunion LOL, and it has become the highlight of the year for us. It is a fun packed day full of activities and things to do and see, the most frequently heard comment from newcomers is....... WOW we never knew there was such a thing for chickens. LOL the question is how do we ever top this one.
