well folks requests are coming in for next years stock already, I am thinking sometime around the middle april to the first of may. And have been looking at having it in a different location. also have had some offers of locations to hold it. so I will be checking in to that and will start getting things togather and posted as time gets closer. thanks again to all that made the stock so much fun. My family had a great time, we were only able to stay a short time because I had to get home to get to work. I am excited at the prospect of another ChickenStock in the spring. My 4 year old held and petted every chicken that was there, I think!

Hi - I live in central OK and I am looking for anyone who raises pretty chickens - I am looking for 2-3 baby hens to raise as pets and give me some eggs in my backyard. I am having trouble finding what I want - I don't want the plain old white ones that they are selling at the feed store and to order any I have to order like 25 of them. Also I've found an ad in the paper but they can't tell a boy from a girl and suggested I buy like 10 and then get rid of what I don't want once I can tell which is which - I don't want to take care of 10 baby chickens and I would have no idea who to sell 8 chickens to. I want pretty chickens - like Barred Rocks, Speckled Sussex, Silver Laced Wyandotts - does anyone know of anybody in central Oklahoma that would sell me 2-3 baby hens of one of these breeds?

I'm working on getting a hut built for them and will be looking for chicks in a couple of months.

Who would have thought it was this tricky to buy a chicken?

Also, what is Chickenstock?
