We left mid-morning Friday, so didn't see the posts. I told
about our "Shawnee" adventure over on the Okies in the BYC
forum....LOL
The KID entered 6 birds, 2 - 1sts, 2 - BVs, 1 - BB, and
1 - RB.
And, yup, we came home with more birds than we took....LOL
Lord help us, his 15 year old sister has caught the fever. Guess
we'll have two of them to chase now.
We'll be at Pryor in March and will make a name tag....
What fun! I loved going to the Shawnee show, as always
Got to meet up with countyroad1330, okcarla, and chickengurl again. And got to meet slightlycracked and mcfarlandteresa for the first time
Sorry to all the ones who I didn't get to meet - we got there around 1:00, and I wore my yellow name tag until we left at 4:00.
I was able to snag some of you for pictures with the BYC Mascot, and I will be uploading those later today.
I surprisingly, and sadly, bought no new birds.
I bought chicks from Carla - silkies, turkens, and a marans. There was an awesome red bantam shamo trio that I wanted but they'd already been sold. Just my luck.
Don't forget- the American Brahma Club will also have our National Meet there, too!
It ought to be a humdinger, but I won't be able to make it this year. In any event, there ought to be a great deal of fine birds, especially Brahmas! Oklahoma is in our fifth District, and some of our more experienced breeders should be there.
Good luck to all who go, and be sure to drive safely. We've all got that Crossroads show to look forward to in a couple of years, and we need to get there and back in one piece!
Yours in the Fancy,
Sandy
P.S. If you'd like to join the best breed club in the world before exhibiting your birds at the Shawnee show, send me an e-mail at [email protected] and I'll be happy to send it to you by e-mail or regular mail, whichever you prefer. Two of our more dedicated members have put up $400.00 in cash prizes to be awarded at the show to members of the club. Why not join up if you plan on showing your Majestic Ones, and be eligible not only for cash, but for those all important bragging rights! ha-ha!
Thanks for the update, but I do hope the show goes well. With a Brahma National to brag about, it has to be a super show, right?
The dates this year are the 12th and 13th of December, but I'm not sure of the entry deadline. Perhaps the "rerun" of this thread will promote the show as well as a current one.
