I’ve never had it/heard of it…what is it?

It's a pod like vegetable with a hairy outside and a slimy/hollow/seedy inside. It's usually in gumbo or fried. I like it plain off the plant.

Yes try it first. If you're bugged by texture you might not like it, the flavor is good though. It's best when it's fried and still crunchy.

I've only ever had it fried. I've tried growing in the garden, first year was very successful but after that i haven't had any luck. . Not sure what I'm doing different

oh I absolutely can not stand snot it makes me physically sick

Fried, sauteed, roasted, gumbo, pickled, you name it. Never tried it raw tho.
