Ol' Home Remedies

- Meat tenderizer and water (to make a paste) is also great on mosquito bites...

- Salt water gargle for a sore throat...

- Baking soda to whiten teeth...

I used to remember using a clay like, sticky poultice starts with an "Ab.......sine" and it came in a tube. Made by the same company as Absorbine (horse products). Now I can not find them anymore. Anyone knows where I can get these?

Great for punctures, insect bites, blisters, sunburns and cuts.

My parents used to use this product to put on collie ears to tip them forward when they want to "prick up". Great stuff LOL!

FWChicks, I do recall hearing that tabaccky and spit method works down South.......don't ask me why but they know what they were doing back in those days!

Honey (raw) as antibiotic ---- more powerful than an RX one

Peroxide - mouthwash (don't swallow)

Baking soda, absorbant powder

Vinegar, final rinse to degrease or take residue from hair....

I used to work with a woman, from the south, who grew up with these. Told me once her throat was so sore she skipped the sugar and just drank straight kerosene. OMG, lucky to be alive. Said her dad used to pee in a bottle and her mom would put it in their ears when they had an earache.
