Olandsk Dwarf Chickens

I got my first 9 olandsk dwarf eggs in the mail today! Hopefully I will have some of these beautiful chickens in a few weeks!

I have 4 developing eggs out of 9! Just 2 more weeks to go!

I just lost my last egg today on day 15. Lost 1 about day 8 or 9 & lost 2 on day 11.

I guess I'm counting my chickens before they hatch. No improvement on any of the eggs. Day 22 tonight. So, getting nervous.

Did any hatch??

I am sorry to hear that! Maybe you will have better luck next time. I have tried to hatch Legbars 4 times and have zero! They are my unicorn chicken.

So sorry! I have near 100% hatches from my own OD eggs, but I have horrible hatches with shipped eggs from this breed. I have read that smaller eggs don't fare as well in shipping.

I really want some of these chickens but I don't know if I want to try again. I have very bad luck with shipped eggs, even though I follow the good advice I find on this site & have even worse luck with shipped bantam eggs. 0% hatch from silver sebrights too.

I wish I could get a young pair from Greenfire farm but I don't have that kind of money.
