:) ok I have this account for a few years, but have recently been trying to use it, made a new password.
Life has kept me busy, had a triple bypass, lost my fiance. But ive kept up on my chickens. I was down to 2 chickens a phoenix rooster that has one leg, which hes about 9 or 10 years old now. And a phoenix hen, which has since been killed by a coyote. I electrified my fence and added some great chickens.Cuckoo Maran and Welsummer were my startup, since then i have some great crosses Pheonix Maran, gorgeous rooster from that cross.
But still working on it.
Had a welsummer Phoenix roo but coyote attack took him. Have a huge pack nearby at least 8 to 10. Lost a few birds till i put the electric fence back up.

I missed this place, i have gotten so much insight here. People are wonderful, Thank you for the nice welcome back.
And yes its been hard with such a large pack of coyotes around. But seems like the electric fence is working . I had to put it up on top and bottom, they mostly dig under.
These coyotes are huge , bigger than my border collies. I'd say german shepard size or maybe larger? At least the dark grey one is larger than german sherpard. They always come very early morning like between 3 am and 6am. Ive heard my neighbors shooting at them.
Ive never seen such big coyotes, they are not dogs, they are grey Silver/Black in color The big one is a dark grey.
But for now the electric fence and burying cinderblocks has stopped them.
