---update 2---
clementine has just sadly passed away, im still not sure why or what happened but i think it might just be something to do with her age. thank you to anyone who tried to help.
:hit:(

------!!!!UPDATE!!!!-------

chicken can't even hold up her own head and her neck keeps twitching, I don't think shes egg bound as she hasn't laid an egg in weeks but the bottom of her stomach is VERY warm and shes a bit bloated, her comb looks normal apart from being a bit droopy. she 'tweets' occasionally and tries to move every now and again- PLEASE HELP!!!!

I only got back from holiday on Friday. while we were away we had an old friend house-sitting for us. when we did get back everything seemed in order with the flock (8 hens, 1 rooster, all hens are ex-battery hens) on weds or thus the oldest hen had had her foot stepped on by the horse and broke one of her toes but seemed to be fine and her foot was healing. yesterday morning she didn't come straight out of the coop with all the others but I didn't worry because she has always been a bit slow to come out of the coop in the mornings, it was only when I was collecting eggs around lunchtime that she sort of fell down the ladder coming from the roost. I brought her inside and put her in a box with straw on the bottom and plenty of food and water. she ate a bit of food last night but not much. this morning she has no interest in eating or drinking and seems to be having a hard time breathing, she's not even attempting to walk and seems to be ina bit of pain.

thanks,

I'm sorry to hear about your hen:hugs

Do you know if she's still laying eggs?

I would feel her abdomen for bloat/swelling or fluid, won't hurt to feel inside the vent for a stuck egg too.
Since she's an Ex-Batt she may be suffering from a reproductive disorder which sadly is common in laying hens.
Check her crop to see that it's emptying overnight too and look for any lice/mites.
