Old coop renovation questions

Lots of potential there, nice big space.
Most my thoughts have already been expressed by other posters.
I'd get rid of the concrete in the run area....and of course add mesh against predators.
1/2" hardware cloth on any opening/gap larger than 3/4" in coop.
Anti-dig aprons all around...maybe even on coop/barn wall.
Top hinged windows in the coop for light in winter and extra ventilation in the summer would be good
Keep in mind that if you open 'big windows' into the barn you'll likely get a lot of 'chicken dust' in the barn.
Might be good to put nests in/on the coop/barn wall so you can gather eggs without having to go into the coop.

Since the run is covered, I agree with Mary (Folly's place). Not much will grow there with out the rain and sun. This will keep the mud down. Do you plan to let them out and about some?

aart is right about the window to the north into the barn. I wouldn't do it myself.

Large windows and a vent on the south side. Then maybe vents way up high on the west and east walls so there is not a draft across the birds. Roosts along the north wall with maybe a poop board and roof?

My ideas are from: page 15 "Producing poultry profitably: the way we do it, ... c.1. Quisenberry"
