Old English Bantam still not laying

My 7 month old english hen is still not laying. is this normal or what?

I have only had 2 of those, and they were late in laying, so not a lot of experience. They also will lay for periods every day, and then stop for months at a time. I love mine, but they are not predictable layers at all. They tend to go broody also.
