Thank you for that info. That is interstingI think that hen is what we call lavender instead of white. Lavender is a dilution gene of black. When a bird has two copies of the lavender gene the chicken will be lavender. However, when crossing a lavender bird to another variety without the lavender gene will produce black chicks because the chicks only have one copy of the lavender gene. That's the reason you're getting black chicks from her.
