On Monday my four girls will be two weeks old (how time flies!!) and it is supposed to be in the upper 60-70's all week.
Really, all I want to know is if they can start visiting the backyard! Not for to long- only for a few minutes at a time and under supervision.
If anyone has anything more to say on the matter- please post!!
(Can I also start giving them treats?? I'm so excited to try Strawberries!)

My chicks are 2 1/2 weeks old and they had 2 outings so far. I thought I would let them out for just a few minutes (over concerned mommy) but they had so much fun and where running around like crazy that we ended up spending the whole afternoon outside. Just watch them how they are doing, if they are huddled up together and seem cold bring them back inside. If they have fun, chasing bugs, eating grass and doing "chicken stuff" let them enjoy it

I give them treats as well, just tried cut up tomatoes and they loved it. Make sure they have grit available and they should be fine.
Oh yes, and post pics

Find a nice sunny spot, out of the wind. I made a wire cage about 4 ft diameter and let them hang out as long as it warm. They love to peck throught grass. I try to put the cage on grass and mulch so they can dig around.

Its all about temps....if it were me they would be spending nice days outside....say the girl who night time temps have dropped back into the 20's Ouch!

We have had our babies outside on nice sunny days now a couple of times. They are three weeks old and loved it! We put them in my dogs wire kennel so they were protected. Good thing because while my husband was on babysitting duty, two hawks and a couple of crows came by. The one Goshawk bulleted right past him just above his head! Anyways, just make sure you have water, food and some shade as well for them. Mine had a wonderful time scratching, eating bugs and grass and hanging out with us. Dont leave them unattended because predators come by quick to check them out. You also have to watch and see if they start to get cold so you can put them back inside right away. I love watching them doing their chicken thing!
