I've got three mallard ducks. One duck and two drakes. They're about 4-5 months old and I seen them mating this morning. I guess I have to get rid of one drake, but that's besides the point. Isn't 4-5 months too young? Also, Its October. Weird time of the year. On the picture they're still much younger. The drakes colors are all complete now.
Thanks for any advice

What about the time of the year? A nest in October? the duckling will be having a hard time then....

Oh, I guess I didn't catch the part about the female building a nest. I'd say it's pretty normal with domesticated ducks, they start young, then they take a break. Then they seem to figure it out. I'm not sure what I would do about the nest. How far along in incubation is it?

they never even laid eggs yet, and for sure not a nest. I figured they will once they start laying. mallards almost always go broody.
