Was it ice cold? Idk there is still hope for it. My girls last egg was due to hatch the same day she left the nest I got to it right after church candled it and I could see the beak in the air sac so it had pipped internally I stuck it in the bator and 2 hours later it pipped then zipped and now theres a little fluffy chick in the brooder with the others.just went out to feed and water, and darned if the broody i have been arguing with didn't leave her remaining egg on the nest and snuggle with her sister- so the egg is in the bator, it was cold, any chances for it- it is due to hatch.......
I have heard that is very hard to stop. I had an EE that did that. She would get them as soon as they were laid. She eventually stopped. I think it was because I put golf balls in the nest. Idk. Maybe someone else can help.A few days ago, I was getting eggs out of the coop. Our dog got all excited and jumped at the egg, which I dropped and of course cracked. My mamma had just had her babies a few days before then and greedily proceeded to eat the yolk. Since then, when I go to get the eggs, there is usually yellowish stuff covering the eggs. I think mamma has taken to eating at least one egg a day.How do I get her to stop?!?!?!?!![]()

Here are the two blurry pics I could get in the rain and trauma of Smokey's pecking. I'll try again later to get better pics and hopefully we'll have more babies.
This pic has two babies - one lighter in the back under momma and one darker in the front. I think the other one may be up under her wing at the top as it looks like maybe feet sticking out?
Managed to get the bottom of one of them - haha
