Old Fashioned Broody Hen Hatch A Long and Informational Thread

my broody babies...ok pullets now, were funny today. It was 8 below zero this morning. So being they can.... they flew everywhere they had to go rather than touch the frigid snow on the ground. One young blue pullet took off from the fence, flew 20 yards one way, then flew over the house , GLIDED for a bit, then flew some more to the duck fence, before going down with the ducks to eat. All day long this kind of stuff went on. Fun to watch.....

And some folks think chickens are stupid, I beg to differ.

the other two eggs i put under the seramas until i see a pip- tuesday will be cutoff day for those eggs- thats a week late... my problem is candling them- too thick of shell

yeah I do. My little shop buddy is sitting on 3 eggs. She wouldn't give it up.

I was wondering if she was still sitting, hope you get some chicks!! I had to put feed bags in three of the nest boxes tonight because some of my girls must be practicing, they have been sleeping in the at night. They get to dirty if they sleep in them.

I am counting on them being good fliers....
