Forgot to add! It was one of MY hens eggs!! It looks to be a little chick that came out of a cream/white eggs which would be from my BO, Elly Mae who is sadly sick with this terrible crud!

Wow! So much going on. Congrats to all the new fuzzy butts! Can't wait to see some pics. I'll be busy today and tomorrow with the Marine Corp Historic Half I'm doing, but I'll catch up on Monday to see who else has a new clutch.

Smokey and Topsy are due on Tuesday. :)

I just knew they looked farther ahead then my bator eggs! I got home from work look under her saw the shell but no chick. I looked around on the floor....nothing went back to look under her and it must have hatched out no longer then a hour ago the little one was still wet. Waaay back under all mommas feathers!

Violet now has 2 happy little fluff balls under her! The 3rd egg was a quitter, so I'll be getting a few chicks to stick under her tonight. She's still wanting to sit of the nest, but she has a couple days before she has to start teaching them. How does she know they need to eat and drink? Do they start chirping?

Anywho, here are the babies!

What precious pics, as far as them knowing when chicks need to eat, well they just know so don't worry she has it under control. Congrats..
 
Ok well all have hatched except one but it isnt due until monday (Lil Red stole Henriettas nest box on a break.) So that makes 7!! If the last one hatches that will be 8!

They all stick their heads out from under mommas breast and sometimes will come out and crawl around. They are all so different from eachother since they are mixed breeds! Pics coming soon!
 
Here are the pictures, these were taken earlier this morning. She has 7 instead of 4 now. She is a very good momma but worn out having 7 kids scurrying underneath her.

Dont mind Henriettas head. If you guys remember she was attacked by the rooster a few weeks back. Now she gets her rewad!
