How exciting for you............I leave mine till day 25 unless I smell rotten egg........Well its day 21 for Rosie and her 6 eggs that I ordered from the Internet. Iv left her to do it all herself and tried my best not to touch them. I candled them at around 10 days but since its mine and her first time im not sure if I done it right. Two of the 6 were a dark dark red and the other 4 looked a nice blood red ( I didnt have long to look as Rosie was getting very grumpy about me touching them) now on day 21 she nipped out for her little 5 minutes outside so I had another look at them and 4 feel like there is something in them and two are defo dud as I moved them and they sound like liquid inside. Even if just one hatches id be very happy and so would Rosie. How many days after day 21 do I leave them with her if nothing happens? Thank you in advance everyone xxx
Have faith... The first day counts as day zero by the way Just in case you didn't know. Plus variations can cause them to hatch over the next four days...Day 22 and four of twelve have hatched![]()
I believe its normal for them to rest. But try not to peek because while they are pipping and zipping they need momma hen to stick tight on lock down to keep the humidity up. Just like in an incubator the last days the eggs are put on lock down you dont open the incubator till they all hatch. Two others have pipped!!! but one of the ones that pipped isn't moving around at allI am really worried! Is this normal? The other one is shaking the shell all over the place... and I don't feel/see movement in the other
