Old Fashioned Broody Hen Hatch A Long and Informational Thread

Quote:
I know it's so hard not to want to look, but your doing a great job of leaving them alone. can't wait to see them all when they hatch, my frizzle is a blk cochin bantam, she really looks like a boa rolled up in a ball,

Frizzle is out and drying off under mom - and is yellow. 3 for sure (out of 5).

Momma broody has had one green egg sort of off to the side, barely under her wing. I'm betting that is the egg that has appeared clear to me in candling. 4th egg is still hidden and mom is still sitting tight so hopefully that means we have one more to go!

Help! My broody got off her eggs tonight Fter we locked them down in prep for the hurricane! It's very humid outside right now, so could that have something to do with it? She's only gotten off once on her own, that I know of, in the last 11 days so this is freaking me out! For obvious reasons I can't put them in the bator...power scheduled to go down early in the am. Dang, this hurricane is stressing me out!

Already my broody mama, Miss Lizzie, is being tormented by her kids and not even 24 hours old. The little black one was giving her a good run for her money tonight. I'm betting that one is a BOY! He's a bold little bugger.
