They work awhile then rest, it's hard work breaking out of the shell but makes them strong and ready to face the world. hang in there. you will see progress today and hopefully a chick by days end. I wouldn't mess with it much.
I am thrilled with the blonde one... (s)he has little black spots and I was really worried about this one. #3 has 2 external pips so shouldn't be long now.
Can't believe how fast they go from pip to hatch! I really expected it to take days. Cranky there allows her daughter from June to pile in the "brooder" with her, I assume that's what the poo is from? Although yumyum isn't too smart, it's possible it's from her... Oh well! 2 down 1 to go!

How is the lil family this morning? hope all is well.
Good afternoon, ya'll! I moved the D'Uccles outside into the bantam pen this morning and of course they've already escaped from the netting into general population. Crazy little buggers! And my JB momma decided today was a great day for the chicks first outing!! Not sure how she's gonna get them back up the coop ramp, may help her, but I'm going to let her try first before I do anything. Little stinkers are so small they just run in and out of the poultry wire. I'm afraid at least one of them will end up being eaten by something before the end of the day. So, more pics on Monday!
