Picture update on my little chicks! The two Mama's are doing a fantastic job raising all 11 together, one chick died due to unknown circumstances, but a friend had a lone chick hatch and brought it down so it would have a family.

Fuffy better get Hermonie some kind of vitamin, can you get a product called NutriDrench for poultry, it is fantastic for getting them back in health from molting or brooding. I have a couple hatched from this year that think it's broody season already, Everytime I have to get the eggs from under them they scream at me.

She seems fine and is eating when I get her off the nest. Am pretty sure she's getting up when I'm not looking, too.

When I go to clean the coop, I make sure I bring her something yummy and nutritious.

I guess I just worry because she is such an important person within the flock.

Also when she finally snaps out of it, she will have to reestablish her position all over again whilst she is still so light weight.

Funnily enough she lets all 4 of the other hens snuggle up with her in the nestbox at nighttime

Chocolate broke an egg today.

And she is spending most of her day time off the nest. She sleeps on the eggs at night and visits a little bit during the day. I think I am about to scramble them and give them to the chickens.

I'll candle first to see if they are actually developing. I doubt it though!

Hopefully next year she will get it right. I am hoping because she is so young she just hasn't gotten it yet, LOL.

Candled all the eggs. None were developing. I was hungry so ...Scrambled eggs.

I am gonna isolate Chocolate with the sebright roo again. That way I can be sure her eggs are just him and not that leghorn roo. I am so happy she is in the mindset to go broody. Maybe next time she will make it!
