Did you find more maggots today?

none- only thing i can figure is dirty feathers?? should i ivomec her or safeguard her for worms?

I'm happy to hear you didn't find anymore maggots I'm sure thats a relief. It's a toss up on the wormer, I've never used either. I use wazine which i just started the wormer tonight and will do this for 3 days then in 10 days I use Epernix pour on so I don't have to toss any more eggs. I'd say which ever you feel will be the best go for it.

I will get plenty of pics!

I'm sorry I didn't answer your question, I had 2 broodys sit together and hatch chicks and they raised them together also it was the sweetest.

I doubt you have much to worry about then she probably just likes being close to her sis. Vera will protect her chicks with a vengence from anyone who might want to hurt them ,but most hens and roo are very tolerant of a broody and her clutch.

I have a bunch of broodies here.

All first time broodies and all sneaky too, they all have eggs in various stages of development because other hens were laying in their nests.

I have my first chick out, I wasn't expecting any for at least a few more days but apparently I was wrong.

Momma is looking after it and I have the rest of her eggs in the 'bator. From the look of them I should have more chicks in a day or two.

I need to candle the other eggs tonight, I'm trying to sort out what I'm going to do with this crazy all over the place hatching.
