One piping!!!! 3 more to go!!!!!! What a great surprise today
Oh no! Day 21 and my broody is freaking out! I moved her a few nights ago into a room in my coop w/ a momma and her 4, 4 day old chicks. She has not been happy with the move. She seemed to only be on the eggs about 50% of the time, but stayed on them all night. She was driving the other momma crazy, harassing the chicks. Yesterday she stepped on an egg and killed the chick. Since then she is even more agitated. I figure in this state she is not going to be a good mother. I put her back in the coop with everyone else and she calmed right down. I suspected the chicks had already died in the eggs as much as she has been off of them but I was wrong! when I picked them up I could feel chicks moving and hear them chirping in two of the remaining 3 eggs. I plugged in my cold incubator and put them in. The humidity is not going to be right for sure. What can I do!
