Old Fashioned Broody Hen Hatch A Long and Informational Thread

Are you talking about Front line Wynette?  I would like to try something different also. If you come across any dosage let me know please. I had a family of Wrens nesting in a blue bird house very close to my coop well yesterday the babies fledged so today i climb the ladder opened the door expecting to be covered in mites, nope not a one. Did go ahead and spray the house out though.

I've read frontline as used by some. I think I found that by doing a search for dosage of ivermectin pour on.

It's day 7!!!

Looks like I also have the beginnings of another clutch in one of my nest boxes, around 6 eggs. Maybe I'll be getting another broody soon!

An update on the Sebright eggs. We found a pip last night at around 9:00 pm, it's a pretty good sized hole, but no further progress and just the one pip. I hear it peep every now and then too. :D

Thanks everyone for the advise.

Lordy. When it rains... Snowi has gone or is going broody. She is was sitting with Summer and had stolen two eggs. What do I do?

Edit to add details. Snowi is my other bantam brahma and is the only other hen in the coop with Summer. Summer is on day 5 of her hatch. I caught Snowi sitting with Summer and she was sitting on two of Summers eggs. I dislodged her, got pecked by Summer in the process, and blocked her access to Summer.

How long til I know if she is really going broody or is just playing at wannabe? When I moved her she went out to the run after a minor fuss trying to get back to Summer.

Will I need to get her different eggs to hatch? Summers will be almost a week along easy before I officially dub Snowi broody (if she really is).
