Old Fashioned Broody Hen Hatch A Long and Informational Thread

where do i find bluekote? i dont have kids so i am not sure if that is for infants as the polysol. Is two days old, it is my hand. some times peeps really hard, other times like its over. i think the pecks are deeep as i almost at the bone.

myby Bluecoat is a wound dressing that you can use on Cattle horses goats... livestock. You can get it two ways one that paints on with a fuzzy brush or sprays on. Get the stuff that paints on. It dyes the wound blue which is helpful for chickens because they tend to peck at red things. If you cant get something or something similar where you are I would bring the chick in under a heat lamp till the wounds heal.

You can get Bluecoat at the feed store. You can probably get the salve there but most people have polysporin on hand.

Yes, Tractor Supply or maybe any rural feed store? Yes the vitamins are infant drops you get in the grocery store infant isle.

I'm so sorry,I know the loss of a few day old chick. It's really hard to see them pass at that age. If it makes it to tomorrow that's a good sign. If it was pecked too deeply it might not make it. But you can always try to help it. Keep it warm and in the dark overnight if possible. Check it again tomorrow. Babies need 95F heat so if you have a heat lamp put that on it, otherwise use warmer or hot water bottles.

Cute pics everyone.

Got my three little chicks today and put them under the broody mom tonight
