So I went to show my friends how sneaky Popcorn was hatching out a baby .... and there was a 2nd baby and a pipped egg!!! I thought she was sitting on duds left over from my other broody .... I guess she snuck in some fresh eggs

Clever little thing..... There are 2 bantam eggs left under her ..... I would think if they were good they would have hatched first, but who knows when they were added to the clutch.

Note to self .... having a broody hen sit & hatch out chicks is much less stressful when you are out of town on business & swamped when you get home.....

I loved having a Broody there on my 13 hour days with 2 hour drive time, she did the work I just made sure she had food and water.

Hey Tripp, so you have 2 girls, and congrats on the eggs, when my girls are broody they walk around looking like Sumo wrestlers all puffed up and squeak at everyone and everything. Once they feel they have enough eggs you'll start noticing feathers inside the nest, thats usually a pretty good sign they are serious.
yep I have 2 girls!

Lilly does come off the nest all fluffed up even her head! She does have a few feathers in her nest but other then that she just goes lays the eggs sits there then covers the nest up leaves and comes back the next day. Maybe she will go eventually. Oh and yes, she talks to EVERYONE! They both do!

I think your right Stoney, i just sent a pic of the chick to the woman i got the eggs off and she said it's looking like a boy
