Old Fashioned Broody Hen Hatch A Long and Informational Thread

Poor girl I hope she is okay.
Yer shes fine i think, when i left she was gobbling the corn up, she would of got hurt alot more if i wasnt there. What a silly girl, who would take there chicks through a stampeed of lambs?!, then expect to escape going through a fence she is clearly not going to get through!

Mine 7 have been outside with no heat since they were four weeks old. So they will be fine. Dont know about down there but in Maine if they are under 8 weeks old they have to be sold in lots of six or more if being sold in public.

Thank you all for answering my question so quickly. Just one more. At 7 weeks old, I'd like to take half the chicks to Chickenstock. Would that be okay? Or would that be too early and they would still need heat ?
I would say it would be ok, not sure how mama would react haven them taken...

The babies are a week old today. They grow up so fast. I didn't even have to put them in the coop tonight. Both mommas had their babies under them inside the coop when I went out to put them to bed. So much easier then trying to wrangle those little mice size chicks.
