Old fashioned Broody thread for ducks 2013 edition

I've never heard of Startina. There's a brand of food out here called Texas Natural Feeds. They're non-GMO and non-Soy. Their highest protein is 28% game bird starter. I thought that high protein contributes to angel wing... am I wrong? Have you had that issue with 30%?

Also, I built this contraption

to keep the big ducks out. It works amazingly well. One is filled with feed and the other water.

Hello all!!

Our 2 babies are doing very well. We are moving them and their mommy's out to the big coop tonight. They are ready. However....I have to move Miss Daisy and her clutch as the 2 moms think the eggs are theirs and go over and get up in the nest....rolling the eggs 'bout. Daisy has them exactly where she wants them so I don't want the others to mess with them. Daisy gets moved tonight. We are putting her in her own little paradise until hatch.

Our drake will be out in the big coop. Gotta keep an eye on him with the kids. BUT!! Having 2 moms has it's advantages. They are so darned overprotective that NO ONE can get near the babies without getting surrounded. I don't think he stands a chance! They hiss at him when he goes up to the chain link to just have a look!

I love coming on here and getting caught up on everyone! Things at the farm have been pretty quite since the newborns finally arrived. It's not been as much fun as I thought it would be...lol....because I can't get near the babies! Got more coming....so hopefully I'll be able to handle them more after they hatch. LOVE IT!!
