2 were Penelope's blue eggs. The other 2 were from her offspring from last year and were white. I always feel bad for those late hatchers. That is great news Stony! What color were the eggs?![]()

no I don't. Last year was all blue eggs and 4 ducks and 2 drakes hatched.I was reading a link about egg shell colors being passed from the drake, so I'm curious if you know which duckling hatched from which eggs? Sex-linked traits perhaps?
Looks like some are broken open and others have holes am I seeing right?
Don't know what happened there when I first tried to reply.Looks like some are broken open and others have holes am I seeing right?
Okay good I didn't even think to make it larger glad to see they are still all together. I'm thinking something must be going on can you slip in there and get a few to candle? she won't know if she's not there.Don't know what happened there when I first tried to reply.
If you click photo to enlarge it, they don't look broken.
I think the yellow on them is from the one that busted yesterday but she removed the soiled nesting material and the busted egg.
The one to the far left appears to have a piece of leaf stuck to it.
She was gone a good 5 hours yesterday, but did come back to sit for the evening and night.
She was on this morning, then left about 10am and has been gone now for 2 hours.
This is how she left them.
I had planned to do that yesterday, but by the time I had help she was back on the nest.Okay good I didn't even think to make it larger glad to see they are still all together. I'm thinking something must be going on can you slip in there and get a few to candle? she won't know if she's not there.
