Old Fashioned way to break a broody, LOL!!!

The other day, my mother in law, was telling me what her grandmother did to break a broody.
I busted up laughing, picturing this in my head

She would take a gunny sack, get it soaking wet, stick the broody in it and pin it to the clothesline overnight

She had chickens all her life, and this is the method she used all the time.

Not sure I would ever try that method, unless everything else failed, but I was thinking to myself what the neighbors would think of us, if we did that......

Naw, we would not do it either, but just the thought of how indignant those hens must have been........
