Old favorite hen acting odd and smells terrible!

I’m so glad she’s hanging in there! ❤️ Have you seen any more maggots? I don’t know how many nutrients are in the scratch, can you keep feeding her egg instead? Does she like blueberries or watermelon? Anything else you can add in for nutrients and water.
I thought she passed away this morning she just seems so out of it, poor girl. She's loves blueberries and boild eggs but she's just being picky right now. Yes, and I swear I don't know where the maggots are coming from. I look her over so good and soon as I soaked her I see them! Could the be actually coming out of her? She's 7 years old im worried she won't bounce back but my goodness she truly is fighting hard! She goes through super alert stages but mostly knoding off sleeping.

Are you putting any electrolytes in her water? I get hydro hen from tractor supply, it’s got vitamins, electrolytes and probiotics I’m pretty sure!
That's where I'm about to go. I'll get some.. And best spray is the one that starts with a v? I can't think of the name?

Awe I’m so sorry! I do think they could be coming from inside of her, but I’ve never dealt with it so I’m not positive. Hopefully someone with more experience chimes in on that! ❤️

I agree, the maggots need to go, but it sounds like she's in shock as well.

Get her warmed a bit and get some electrolytes or sugar water into her.

You can apply some Swat to help kill off the maggots if you can find it. They will destroy healthy tissue and may have already breached the abdominal cavity, hard to know.

Trim feathers away from the wound and pick off the maggots that emerge.

I'm so sorry about your hen, it must be heartbreaking.:hugs
Hopefully she'll hang in there for you.

Do you have thoughts on the maggots possibly coming out of the hen, like OP said? Anything else she should add in to her tractor supply run?

It could be eggs hatching. Have you left her outside since you discovered her having maggots?
Nutri drench and poultry cell are good vitamin boosters. She needs to have access to her regular food. Continue to give electrolytes.
If you are squeamish then put a glove on and rub the dawn into the wound. Maggots will be killing her very soon if they continue to hatch and eat into her. She already seems to be going downhill.

No she's inside just gets her baths outside. She seems a little better she wanted to walk around the yard some after her bath and she caught a few bugs ate some regular food. Just a little though. Yeah her poop is concerning to me. It's a light yellow

Sun bathing and hanging out with me, thats all she wants to do.

They could be coming out of her, that's pretty bad Flystrike. If she were mine, I'd put her down to be honest. If they're in her body cavity, there's not much to be done
