Old favorite hen acting odd and smells terrible!

Pics
Green poop is from not eating,
I am sorry your bird is in such a state. Are we talking about a hen or a rooster? The one in the picture you just posted looks like a rooster to me (long pointy saddle feathers etc.)
Do you suppose it's a hen with hormone issues? I didn't even notice the feathers, I was looking at the wound.

They could be coming out of her, that's pretty bad Flystrike. If she were mine, I'd put her down to be honest. If they're in her body cavity, there's not much to be done
She's honestly acting a lot better but if I feel she's suffering ill take her to the vet. I almost did yesterday but she's improving today. I agree it's terrible looking. I know im not out of the woods yet with her.

Oh I know she looks like a rooster she's filled me up plenty of egg cartons I promise lol I do think she has hormone issues. She has huge spurs as well!

I just took a closer look and in this picture one can clearly see the long spurs:

Some users on BYC use pour-on insecticides in case of fly strike to make sure each and every single maggot and maggot egg is killed right away.

Maybe look into this to resolve the problem quickly and give her time to rest and heal.

Do you think OP could use pour on ivermectin for this?

They have the cattle kind at tractor supply typically, OP. I’ve used that before on my hens. Might be worth reading in to!

To spray on her butt for the maggots you mean? Is it a spray I can get at tractor supply? Thanks for helping me!!!

I agree, the maggots need to go, but it sounds like she's in shock as well.

Get her warmed a bit and get some electrolytes or sugar water into her.

You can apply some Swat to help kill off the maggots if you can find it. They will destroy healthy tissue and may have already breached the abdominal cavity, hard to know.

Trim feathers away from the wound and pick off the maggots that emerge.

I'm so sorry about your hen, it must be heartbreaking.:hugs
Hopefully she'll hang in there for you.
Would it be helpful to give her taylon 50? I heard a few coughs after this last bath im worried her immune system has broken down @Wyorp Rock
