That's good!Seen NO maggots this last bath! Finally! She's acting all strange as usually after her bath. Idk why she's acts all sickly after baths maybe she's upset with me bothering her non stop. Not sure. I'm just happy I didn't see maggots
Probably. I've never counted drops since I just draw up the dose and apply..45 mL is about 5-6 drops.![]()

Thank you!!! You have no idea how much that means to me to hear this. It's been so draining and horrible, but also rewarding to see her getting better ❤ someone asked me where do I draw the line with animals. I said I don't have a line.I’ve been following along with your story and I’m so so sorry that this has happened to your poor girl. I applaud you for not giving up on her. I know these kinds of things can be traumatizing for you and your hen, but she needs you and you’re doing everything you can. Good job! I’d hug you if I could.
I heard a quote once that I love:
Perseverance is the hard work you do when you get tired of doing the hard work you already did.
You two are persevering together. Keep it up![]()
I’ve learned a tremendous amount from this website- whether it be the advice or encouragement from others, the articles, and even the stories like yours, helping me to know what to do in the event I ever end up in a similar situation. Pictures of poop and maggots seem to turn off lots of people but chicken folks are a different breed. (See what I did there?) in years past I’ve put down several sick and suffering chickens and now I know that had I had the resource of BYC, I probably could have saved most of them. My husband and I talk about it a lot as I tell him the stories of chickens being saved, diseases being cured, etc. I learned of BYC and joined when we got our most recent pullets (now 13 wks old) and saved one of them 3 separate times (she was dying the after she arrived in the mail and wouldn’t eat- had to feed her with a syringe, she got severe pasty butt repeatedly and she got an impacted crop) from having the ability to search past posts and reach out to other more knowledgeable members.Thank you!!!
