Hi everyone. I have this nearly 8 year old black sex-link hen that recently developed some sort of issue. It started a few weeks ago, with her just coughing at times. I thought at first that it may be a respiratory issue. I tried using VetRx, and some Green Goo Poultry Respiratory Care. Neither helped. From there, I went on to use Enrofloxacin 10%. She's currently on her next to last day with that stuff, and while she seems very slightly better, she's still not right. She'll get into coughing fits, sometimes seeming to gasp for air, and the really weird thing is that she's hardly pooping. She did poop 2 times the day prior, but nothing today.
I will say that the day before I decided to bring her in the house so I could monitor her 24/7, my gander attacked her. She had a slightly injured beak from that and was unable to feed herself, so I've been syringe feeding/watering her. She does have an interest in food, and tries to eat, but she struggles unless it's something really soft that she can pick up easily. I fed her last evening around 9pm when I was about to go to bed, and when I got up this morning, there was no poop in her crate where she sleeps. Fast forward to right now, nearly 7pm EST and there's still no poops. Her crop seems fine, as the food I fed her is no longer in there from what I could feel.
Her comb is still a healthy red color, and as I said, she has an interest in food. I'm just not sure what's wrong with her. I really want to help her out, but I'm at a loss. I have no idea what it could be. Any ideas?
EDIT: Came back into the room after showering and there were 2 fresh poops that honestly looked kind of healthy and solid, unlike the ones she was having previously. The only thing I've been doing differently today was feeding her some applesauce.
