Hi,
I've had chickens as pets for at least 10 years. They free range on my double city lot. A few hawks have visited but they don't seem to bother my chickens. My neighbor keeps getting poultry and giving or selling them to me. So I guess I'm a rescue operation, lol. I got a turkey pair and the Tom is the only one I can pet. Two outside chickes, a chicken from my neighbor who turned out to be a rooster
(luckily it's winter so the neighbors haven't complained yet), and two inside. My son got them for me as chicks in September and it's too cold to let them out. Also, two geese
(thanks neighbor!) I think I have too many but what can you do?
