I’m a nurse by trade, but I live on a farm and have had chickens for over 30 years. I currently have a about 20 assorted hens with a few guinea hens in the mix- some actually think they are chickens, just a lot more vocal than the other girls. I have way too many roosters- but they are spread out over the farm and tend to keep areas clean where the resident goats & pig sometimes make a mess of their feed. I do not eat my chickens but I do enjoy the luxury of going in my backyard when I need just “one more egg”. I found BYC years ago and have enjoyed reading others solutions to problems we all seem to encounter.
