Old Threads

I've noticed some very old threads, some back as far as 2008. Do you remove these?

I hope they don't ever remove the old threads--there's a wealth of information there!

The only annoyance is when a newcomer is looking up something and forgets to check how old the thread is and posts resurrecting the thread--I think most folks call them Zombie threads. And that is really only an issue on threads such as 'help me tell whether my chick is a roo'!

I certainly agree about the wealth of information. But the thread ended in 08 and I was looking for more recent information. I started a new thread so hopefully I'll find what I'm looking for.

Try the Advanced Search function (after entering constraining variables - press Search button at bottom of screen).

We let the community decide by either replying or not replying to threads.

Most information doesn't change over time, so there might be cases where an old thread should be revived vs. creating a new thread. It really depends on the situation, which is why we don't usually close any threads.

I was the creator of the thread "Ongoing Brahma Projects Thread"... I have never seen it as very active, not because of lack of interest, there is plenty of that re brahmas, but I think because the thread name starts with "Ongoing" rather than "Brahmas". I think that people looking for brahma threads might pass it bye. Can the name of this thread be amended to be "Brahma Project Thread" which I think would better serve the BYC community. Recently the Brahma Thread was shut down as a result of disagreement in the thread. A new thread was created and I wish this thread had been mentioned when the new thread was created. Everyone has been civil in this thread all along.
