Old Wives Tale? RIR Dark Head Stripe

I know, I know I'm just going to have to wait. But still... my RIR checks are 2-3 weeks old or so. Some had the dark dotted line on their heads/necks and I read somewhere that that indicated a pullet.

However (and I don't know if this is even too early for this to be happening) it seems like at least one of those has recently gotten a rosier tint to the little comb jobby. Which would indicate a roo, right?

So is the head stripe thing just a total old wives tale? Am I imagining the new rosiness or does that happen right around now?

I'd love to give you pictures but none of the darn things cooperate AT ALL right now and I don't have a helper around.

Your right about the stripe on the head with the rir's. My girl had the dark stripe and she lays beautiful brown eggs.
