Hello everyone. First time posting. I have found a wood stove for chicken coop, I think. It is a Red Oaks model 182 made in Tipton, IN
It came out of old chicken coop excellent shape and I believe all the parts are there. Does anybody know anything about these stoves. I would appreciate any info anybody has.

! Great to have you here! Sorry, I don't have any info on that stove. Best of luck to you!

I know that I can be a silly girl, but why would you have a wood stove in a chicken coop? There many chicken keeper's in Alaska that don't ever use supplemental heat for their flocks.

Welcome from the soggy side of Washington State.

Now I get it. duh!
I was still trying to figure out how you could get a chicken to stoke the stove during the night.

The stove was put into a chicken coop when the owner's found that it wasn't enough to keep anything heated enough, let alone long enough. I do know that anyplace with at least basic building codes, that this stove would be illegal. I can tell that by the size of vent pipe. It would be great in a detached garage or shop. It would be quick to heat very hot, and quick to burn out. At my house the odds would be that the wood stove was there before the first chickens ever were
