This is how it looked like after she had come out. And when she came out she had something on her beak. I think she pecked at it. I dont know if there was anything else there too, she might of eaten it :S... looks like she had becAuse she laid in the box but this was outside and empty.

And this yellow part was hard on the outside, like a soft shell would be.

What does this mean? She is an older chicken i think and while ive had her.. two months approx... she didnt lah anything for a month and then laid two soft eggs and then nothing for weeks and now today... she sat in the nest box for an hour and this is what she did .
Any advice please, i dont know a great deal about chickens.

Yes there is shell grit in the pen in separate dish all the time

Soft shell egg...not too uncommon.
Maybe a start up glitch....or a reproductive tract issue.
What all and how exactly are you feeding?
Are your other birds laying 'good' eggs?

Hey yep others eggs are perfect.
Layer feed, shell grit and sometimes leftover veggies fruit fish n meat.

They free range all day too

Could be a combo of moving stress those first two months and now molting season is close in your part of the world. She may not lay 'normal' until next spring.
It's a wait and see kinda thing.
Tho you could isolate her to check her digestive system.

I'd isolate bird in a wire cage within the coop for a day or two....so you can closely monitor their intake of food and water, crop function(checking at night and in morning before providing more feed), and their poops. Feel their abdomen, from below vent to between legs, for squishy or hard swelling.

Best to put crate right in coop or run so bird is still 'with' the flock.
I like to use a fold-able wire dog crate (24"L x 18"W x 21"H) with smaller mesh(1x2) on bottom of crate under tray.
Then you can put tray underneath crate to better observe droppings without it being stepped in. If smaller mesh is carefully installed, tray can still be used inside crate.
