Older hen acting lethargic normal?

She took two bites of some sunflower butter (doesn’t have any sugar btw) and didn’t want the mash. I left it in with her. She is drinking a normal amount. She pooped and this is what it looks like:

That doesn't look to good.
Do you happen to have any antibiotics on hand? If so, what do you have?

She may have a reproductive issue going on, but and antibiotic may give her some supportive care. Hard to know what's going on with her though.

No I don’t have any. Are there any I can get over the counter?

She ate some ham that my sister gave her, that’s pretty much the only think she will willingly eat but I know that can’t be her diet so I’m working on finding more things.

You can order Amoxicillin online. Dose is 57mg per pound of weight given orally twice a day for 7-10 days. It may help or not depending on what's going on with her.

She doesn't have a sour or bad odor to her breath does she?

As for foods, right now if she's not that interested in her normal food try different things. Eggs, fish (tuna/mackerel) or even a little meat (cooked ground turkey/beef, etc.). Sometimes watery foods are more pleasing, depending on your budget and the availability of items - watermelon, cucumber, tomato, etc. may peak her interest.

I'm sorry that she's not improving. Sometimes a hen ends up with several things going on at once and the best you can do is what you are doing.

Ok I will order that

not that I have noticed but I will check when I go out next

I will try those things!

I think she is actually a little better, based on the fact that she was on the low roost for a few nights but is now back on the high one.
