Older Hens mean to juniors. Advice?

I'll just chime in that my littles always have to hang back and eat last, and live kind of on the edges of the flock if they weren't raised in the flock by broody momma. That's very normal.

And don't apologize for culling or eating your older hens! Good on you for taking that step. It's amazing how empowering butchering a chicken can be, for some weird reason.......
 
Well the great news is integration is happening at long last. Two days of peaceful interaction together and this morning they ate together for the first time without pushing the 3 young ones away. It seems they are finally a flock :)
