I think her best days are behind her too.She is very nicely mottled so I believe she's been through a few molts = much older than a year. She also has spurs which tells me her lady parts retired. If she was laying eggs and you moved her to new digs that could cause a vaca. But I'm thinking her days are behind her.
I have 9 adult hens total including her and I get 6-8 eggs a day. I have never got 9. That and the fact the she never laid a egg when I put her in the mini coop tells me she's a retired layer.
It's strange that she likes play around in the nest box and sit on the eggs briefly.
