Howdy from SC! I will be getting chickens next spring and am looking for all kinds of advice. I've had chickens as a child and young adult and missed having them in my life. I've done some research on breeds an am interested in Black Jersy Giants. I like what I read about them and would like anybody's personal experience with them. I hope to start with about 15 hens, rooster optional as I don't really want to breed them or eat them. Do they require special housing, perches and so forth because of their large size? Also, since they mature slowly what is the best feed for them? Any and all info appreciated! Oh, I do live in the country on 36 acres so I have plenty of room.
