Ummmm.....yeah. comb that big that young.....he's making his existence clear early!
Bea as we call Her/Him, has been behind the other 3 in wing growth but has been noticeably bigger in body than the others.
We're so bummed, as we weren't wanting a roo.

So I guess we keep him till he's off heat and then get a pullet... have you integrated a chick at the 8 week ish mark without much hassle? We're new to this.
My chicks were started to be integrated at 8 weeks with my older hens. I have some mean hens but they accepted them in the flock.

The OE were never in with my flock.

Do we get another chick close in age to these other girls and hope for a hen or wait till we know gender and get another? We hoped for 4.

I also do 2 weeks of see no touch. So the chicks are in a seperate coop at 4 to 6 weeks depending on weather.
Then after 2 weeks i do suervised integration. And after have a spot cut open big enough in the small run around the second coop for only the chicks to get into the hens cant.
