That is a Cayuga duck egg. It’s always a stark contrast to all my other eggs.

My Ayams are SQ, but I’m not selling these eggs as purebred, although a lot of them have come out purebred or my price would be different.

I’d rather give the birds the opportunity to have as much space as possible for the time being. I only have an acre fenced in so I’m waiting to fence in all my property before doing purebred breeding areas.

Just for reference, these are two recent batches (born last week)... one born all black, one born with a couple white toes. But that’s how the breeding process works. You hatch out like 20 chicks and out of all of those you pick the best two to be potential SQ, but this mix of eggs is just for people that want different color eggs. =))

Don’t mind their beaks, they get scratch and peck fermented feed so they get pretty messy lol

It matters to people who want to know how far the eggs will coming from or care if they are being shipped legally as MOST states DO have NPIP requirement for importing or exporting ANY livestock including hatching eggs... as a means of protecting our national food supply chain. Plenty of diseases can pass on to embryos. While some people simply don't know about laws and others may not care... I do, as do a lot of other responsible chicken owners here on BYC.

I realize your price was for shipped eggs and they were not indicated as pure... but people still may wish to know, so I asked.

Not really. But the OP seems very open and honest.

Why do I ask so many questions??? Because I learned my lessons the hard way. Since I have a little more experience now.. I advocate for the less well informed.

Questions are totally welcome! I definitely want people to know what they are getting. Happy customers is always the goal. =)

And yes, totally agree. But I also know that NPIP people still have birds with diseases that NPIP doesn’t test for. I think Salmonella is the only disease transferable from eggs to chicks, but I could be wrong. Anyone dealing with a lot of animals will deal with sickness here and there, but I give all my animals the healthiest food possible and I’m all about prevention through natural remedies. Apple cider vinegar and fermented feed allow my birds to have high immunity naturally.

I was actually on medication for 20 years for arthritis and I used diet change and natural healing to get me out of a wheelchair. Aside from a slight limp from time to time, you’d never know how far I’ve come. And because of that, I’m really passionate about health and that doesn’t just mean my own health, but rather the health of those around me, birds included!

You are VERY correct... it can be a false sense of security... Marek's is one of those things not tested for or even required to be reported. And the fact that NPIP isn't even the same fro state to state just makes it kinda that much more LESS reliable.

Yes, I agree... good nutrition (after genetics) is the key foundation to so much regarding health and immunity....
