I have a mixed flock of 8 birds, 4 littles and 4 bigs. The only two birds that are the same is our olive eggers. Pixie and Tilly the Hen. I wanted a variety of egg colors so added these birds. They are mix of cream leg bars and welsummer. These birds are insane. I cannot with them....they fly on our roof and nose dive 25 feet into our green house and eat EVERYTHING. Is this a colored egg trait? I have clipped their wings, I have locked them up. Nothing works they could destroy a steal ball. Prior to adding the olive eggers I raised a Easter egger mutt and araucana. I felt these colorful layers were a littler more high strung or crazy than our brown layers. But now that I have olive eggers it seems the more colorful the egg the crazier the bird. Anyone else have these issues and really how do I train these chickens? Or is this just adolescent madness?

I have easter eggers and they are looloo craziest birds ever

I have an EE that is as mellow as a bird can be if they didn't like being handled. As long as she doesn't know I'm reaching for her, she's fine. Her dad/brother was the same way.

I have a friend that has to Easter eggers and told me they are her sweetest birds and love to be held. I can’t even phantom this as mine are crazy, but the olive eggers.....they are psychopaths. They don’t even run from me unless I act Ike I’m going to touch them. They attack my feet, they fly over the fence and hav taught all the other chickens that they can fly too. They honk like geese. I’m really looking forward to green eggs but chicken nuggets are starting to sound good too.

oh and I forgot...they use their beak and claws to climb. So clipping their wings did nothing. They CLIMB!!! They can scale a six foot wall.
