i have americana roosters and rhode island, orpington, plymouth rock hens. will crossing them make olive eggs?

yes. americanas blue laying gene is dominint and being crossed with a brown egg layer will give you olive or green eggs from the offspring that hatch from your hens eggs. your current hens eggs wont change colors tho.

No, it will not create true Olive colored eggs. You'll just get Easter Eggers with green eggs. True olive egg layers come from dark brown layers, not normal brown.

so say i use maran x americauna does it matter which is the hen and which is the rooster?
